How to choose a raised bed

Three things matter: area, side height and surface finish. Choose the area based on how you will access the bed. For widths of 80 and 100 cm, allow for access from both sides; for 120 x 120 cm and 150 x 150 cm squares, allow for all-around access. Longer beds of 200 x 100 cm and 240 x 120 cm have the long side composed of two boards rather than one single long board. Heights of 20, 30 and 40 cm determine the amount of soil required and how far you will have to bend while working. The boards are 20 mm thick, made of kiln-dried wood planed on all four sides, and arrive custom-cut to size. The package includes mounting elements and geotextile.

Which version to choose

• Natural raised beds arrive without a surface finish; you can choose the glaze and shade yourself. You can choose from surface areas of 120 x 80, 120 x 120, 150 x 80, 150 x 120, 150 x 150, 200 x 100 and 240 x 120 cm.
• Impregnated raised beds come pre-treated. Brown beds measure 120 x 80 x 40 cm and 150 x 80 x 40 cm, while the four-tier version is in a dark amber glaze.
• Pre-assembled raised beds have some walls already connected, and you complete them using the provided boards. This applies to the 150 x 80 x 30 cm natural raised bed and the entire impregnated range.
• Four-tier raised beds (120 x 120 x 40 cm) consist of four modules stacked in tiers; the height refers to the highest point. You get more tiers in a small area and the modules can be combined.
• The corner variant of the four-tier raised bed has the same dimensions. In both cases, the tiers are made of spruce or pine depending on availability.

What to get for your raised beds

Leaves and general garden waste can be processed by a 1 000 l wooden composter measuring 100 x 100 x 100 cm, available in natural or brown impregnated versions. The bottom hatch makes it easier to remove finished compost. For children, we have the Ondra sandbox 120 x 120 x 20 cm. After playing, you can close it with flip-top lids, transforming it into two benches with backrests.

A water source right by the beds is provided by garden water posts. For earlier sowing, we recommend polycarbonate greenhouses. You can take care of your planted crops with equipment from plant growing and care. Use garden tools to maintain the greenery around the beds.
