How to Use the Alcoholmeter?

To take a measurement, the test tube should be filled with a small amount of liquid, enough so that the float inside it floats in its volume and does not touch the walls of the container. Once the immersion level has been determined, a reading can be taken based on the position of the lower liquid meniscus.
The liquid changes its concentration (molecules expand and contract) with temperature. Remember to take the reading at 20 °C for a reliable and accurate result.

Since the meters are scaled at 20°C, it is recommended to take measurements at the same temperature, which is facilitated by the thermometer located in the alcoholmeter. Because the liquid changes its concentration (molecules expand and contract) with temperature, the most reliable and accurate measurement will be taken at 20 °C. The glass alcoholmeter is equipped with a shatterproof test tube, which is made of food-grade material - including alcohols.
