How to choose accessories

Column packing increases the heat transfer area between the vapours and the descending phlegm. Copper catalytic filters and prismatic springs also absorb sulphur compounds from fermentation, whereas stainless steel wool does not have a catalytic function. With copper filters, a column height of at least 120 cm is expected. Coconut shell active carbon filters the distillate, and one pack is sufficient for approximately 60 l.

The distillation process is monitored by a parrot with an alcoholometer; a separate hydrometer with a thermometer allows you to read the sample at 20 °C. The E-DEST D100 regulator maintains the temperature based on two temperature probes and controls heating elements up to 4 kW. A solenoid valve controls the cooling water in selected electric distillers Edest. Silicone gaskets come in sizes of 110 mm or 158 mm; please select based on your device. Devices without their own heating source can be placed on a cast iron gas burner with a capacity of 5.33 kW.
