How the models differ

Electric distillers have heaters in barrels with a volume of 30 or 50 litres. Distillers without a heat source are heated from the outside and a burner is not included; it must be purchased separately.

Within both groups, the column is the deciding factor. Four devices feature internal reflux with copper packing: three electric models with 30 and 50 litre barrels, and the stainless steel Moonshine. The POT-STILL pot still column is featured in two devices with 50 litre barrels, one electric and one for a burner; the 100 litre model has the same column. The SH978 and SH980 feature a tube column and an automatic temperature regulator; no other model includes a regulator in the set.

The SH978, SH980 and one of the reflux models with a 50 litre barrel have a wide neck of 12 cm. Cooling water hoses are included with all nine devices.
