How to Choose Between Metal Smokers
Five steel smokers from our brand use traditional wood firing in the firebox. They differ in capacity and sheet metal thickness. Nordic holds 12 kg of meat and has 1 mm walls, Frigg 16 kg, and Donar up to 20 kg. Donar, Frigg, Tauron, and Strigg are made from 1.5 mm sheet metal and have separate fireboxes connected by a 100 cm smoke pipe. Nordic has the firebox located directly beneath the smoking chamber. The insulated Tauron and Strigg models feature wooden panels on all four sides and the roof, ensuring better heat retention.
Portland W2 and XL gas smokers are powered by 3.5 kW and 4.4 kW burners. Wood chips go into the built-in box and the temperature is monitored via a built-in thermometer; the W2 also features glazed doors. The Medison table grill has a 0.88 kW smoking burner for pellets and wood chips in addition to the main burners. Kiona and Minnesota offset smokers are used for both smoking and grilling with wood, while the Sierra adds a gas grill to the smoking chamber.
You can find wooden chambers instead of metal in wooden smokers. You can fine-tune the smoke in the firebox and the box using wood smoking chips.
